As part of my ERASMUS period in Munich I studied at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). Before going to Germany the plan was to study only at the Ludwig-Maximilian University (LMU) but the courses I wanted were not available or not to my liking. Instead of doing them anyway I decided to contact the TUM and inquire whether I could follow courses there. I just showed up when the courses started, asked the professor whether he had an additional spot available and that’s that. All the professors were really eager to have me. Even from a bureaucratical point of view, it was no problem at all.
Everybody likes somebody who is motivated and takes iniative
I followed the courses:
- Nanoscience using Scanning Probe Microscopy
- Fundamentals of Surface and Nanoscale Science
- Magnetism and Spin Phenomena in Low-Dimensional Electron Systems
- Vacuum, Surfaces and Thin Films
Together with the courses I followed on the LMU I learned a lot in Munich, had an awesome time with a great group of friends!
